Unhappy Scratching & over-active hedgie

Hi everyone,

I've had my Édouard for more than 2 years now and for the first time I am completely clueless about what's happening to him; I've searched everywhere.

He his scratching (but does not have mites- I did the black shirt test, his skin is the same color as always, he does not lose quills, I've been bathing him every 2 week with oatmeal soap and rinsing him water + with vitamin E) And every time I pick him up for cuddling time he seems over-active/excited (sniffing, jumping but not upset, running a lot).... the equivalent of a human that had to many energy drinks that scratches every 5 minutes; he has always been a calm and lazy hedgie...

Does anyone as any idea of what's happening to him?

(I don't know if my post is more relevant to skin or behavior, i'm sorry if it's not in the good section )
