Default Sneezing and congested hedgehog

I have a hedgehog named Calvin. In January, he was sneezing and had visible snot coming from his nose. I took him to the vet. They gave him medication, which didn't help much, but he slowly got better. He is now sneezing(multiple times in a row continuously) and congested again. What should I do? The medication he was given last time didn't seem to help at all. Is it possible that he is allergic to something in the air? I don't know what to do. Any advice would be helpful!

I suggest taking him back to the veterinarian to be re-examined. While there inquire about having a culture and sensitivity test done on some of the mucus from his nose. It is possible that he has an infection which was resistant to the antibiotic that was given to him previously. A culture & sensitivity test will help the vet to determine what type of infection he is suffering from and what medication is the right one to treat it.

I would definitely follow the advise given by Kalandra, mucus isn't good! In addition, what kind of bedding do you have him on? Hedgehogs are sensitive to wood oils and paper bedding can be dusty. If you have him on fleece liners are you using a natural detergent?

Also you will want to make sure his habitat and bowls are being kept extra clean to minimize bacteria.

Just another thing to consider for you.
