Default Side effects from respiratory infection medicine.

About a week ago I got my hedgie Sherlock. On friday I noticed that he was not as active and was licking his nose quite frequently and also was breathing a little harder then normal. I started to get a little concerned so I took him to the vet and they put him on oxygen and told me that he may have pneumonia. I was devastated but they took him off the oxygen after a while and his breathing got better and they they gave him a round of antibiotics and sent him home. When he got home I noticed his skin was dry and he started sneezing a lot. He was not sneezing before. He is eating a lot more and drinking water normally but is still not very active and I am worried. Maybe I am just a little over worried but I am super attached to my little guy even though I have only had him a week. Any advice would be great. Thank you!

I would take him back to the vet. It sounds like the infection hasn't cleared up. Did they send you home with any antibiotics? usually hedgehogs are on them for 10 days or so for a URI.

Its like when a human gets a cold, sometimes at first we just have a runny nose, they it might become stuffed up or we might start coughing or sneezing. I would just keep giving the antibiotics as instructed by the vet and as long as he keeps eating and drinking good I would give the meds more time to work.
