Default runny nose

Bane is having a runny nose, while I was holding him today to try and start getting him use to us I noticed a small CLEAR snot bubble. He wasn't licking his nose unless my finger was close to his mouth or nose. He is warm to the touch, eating, pooping and peeing all normally. He is still using his wheel normally. The only change is this overly wet nose.

His single heating lamp is set to 74, the room AC is set to the same, we moved the lamp up to 78.

any ideas? we are thinking of getting another lamp tomorrow and having duel lamps.

My hedgehog, Gretta, has had a really runny nose. I'm taking her to the vet to make sure it's not an infection.
Is he sneezing at all?

If it's a runny nose accompanied with sneezing, most likely it's an upper respiratory infection. Also, if there is any colored dicharge or mucus, I would take your hedgehog to the vet right away. If a URI is left untreated, it could turn into pneumonia, as it doesn't go away on their own.

What type of bedding do you use? It would probably help to switch to fleece or flannel, or even an old T-shirt or blanket for the time being to eliminate any dustiness that could irritate your hedgie's nose more.

I would switch him from any wood shavings as they can carry mites and cause respiratory infections.
