Default Symptoms

I gave my boy a bath yesterday and he dipped his snout into the water, before huffing and shaking his head. From then on, I've heard him... I don't know how to explain it. It sounds like his constantly sniffing, like his nose is runny or something. Short, quick sniffs. The whole time. When he sleeps its better, but when I pick him up and he walks on my chest, I can hear that strange sound again.

Now I've heard that baths can lead to water in the lungs and respiratory infections. I just want to know if this sound might be a start of an infection or something similar? Should I be worried? Take him to the vet?

Hey there! Sorry for the wait... how’s your little guy doing? It’s true that water in the snout could lead to respiratory issues, just like any animal, but it usually has to be a fair amount to become a big issue- you said he just dipped his nose in? Christina has done that before in the bath, but after sniffling and blowing it out, she’s been fine. If it’s continued though, definitely get him checked out. If it is an infection, there definitely needs to be professional care!
Hope this helps 🙂

His behavior hasn't changed at all, and the sounds has decreased. Its not gone completely yet though. Its been a course of 3 days now.

It’s good that his behavior has stayed constant! Since it has been three days, though, I would be concerned if something small. If he’s eating, drinking, and excreting waste consistently, I wouldn’t worry too much, but I would highly consider a vet appointment 🙂
