hello, it's me again (
I have a hedgehog, male, 4,5 months old. weight 249 grams
he seems to develop a strange eating behavior..
when we just took him he ate regularly about 30-40 kibbles per night (Acana cat food, recommended by the breeder).
we don't give him anything else
about 2 weeks ago he started to eat half of what he used to: 15 kibbles. his weight stopped at 250 (he was 230 when we bought him). he runs as usual and poops more or less the same amount.
yesterday he ate 40 kibbles. today only 20. his weight dropped a bit (from 250 to 249 grams). and when I tried to feed him some kibbles during the day, i noticed that the sound of chewing is much softer, not so loud... and then he left a piece of it, and started "chewin air" and there was a strange sound, my cat sometimes does that same sound even when he eats soft food.
i looked in his (hedgehog's) mouth and saw nothing special there but..
he sleeps in the flanel bag, and he usually chews it, leaving the little pieces - i wonder if he could've swallowed some of that fiber... He likes to bite things - fabric mostly...
any ideas? is this a time to run to a vet ?
