Default Tooth Fell Out

Hey all,

I was giving Lily fresh food and water when I noticed something white in the bottom of her cage. I picked it up and I realized it was a tooth! I've looked at her mouth, and there doesn't appear to be any severe swelling, bleeding, ect.

Info:

She will be three years old in June

She is currently on Blue Buffalo Indoor Cat Chicken and Rice. (Hard kibble).

She drinks from a bowl.

She has never had any problems with her mouth before. Previously she ate Purina One Chicken and Rice (also hard kibble), before I switched her to Blue.

I know that losing teeth is common in older hedgies. I do have some Hills soft food which my vet gave me a short time ago when Lily was losing weight. I've softened her current kibble with boiling water, and after it cools I'm putting it in her cage. I'm going to call and schedule a vet appointment tomorrow morning so they can look at her and make sure she's okay.

I can't think of anything that she could have bitten to cause this to happen. There isn't anything hard she could bite in her cage, and when I have had her out she hasn't bitten something hard.

Is there anything else I can/should do? Any and all advice is appreciated. Thank You!

What did the vet say? I have a 3 month old who has lost 2 teeth in the past week! One was even while eating a tiny piece of watermelon! I'm worried!

If you currently have her using a water bottle you could try switching to a bowl. You could also crush up her kibble, but softening it with a little water is fine, too.

RachieDoodle, with a hedgehogs that young it's likely her baby teeth, but are you able to examine her mouth to see if she's hurt just to be safe?
