How can I inspect her teeth?
So last night Gertie was chewing on some stuff she found on my living room floor (a stick and a crayon) because she wanted to anoint. When she anointed, she spread little pieces of crayon paper on herself because she'd chewed off a little piece, but then what came after that was pinkish. (The crayon paper was green.) That leads me to believe that she was maybe bleeding, so I tried to look in her mouth, and she was having none of it. She hardly ever balls up or huffs at me, but she was very huffy when I tried to pull her lip down to check her teeth.
She was acting normal, and she's eating fine, so I doubt it's anything serious. But for my own peace of mind, I'd like to check. Is there any way I can check her mouth without getting skewered to death? |
Vets will hold out a popsicle stick to try and get them to bite so they can look at their teeth. Maybe put some baby food on the end to entice her. (Or get her to anoint with something else)
It may just be the dyes used to color the paper. When Piglet ate money his anointing foam turned pink, too. |
