Exclamation HELP! Hedgie bit nail clippers!

I was trying to clip a nail on his front paw that was curling into his skin when he bit the sharp part of the clippers!! I immediately dropped the clippers and tried to check his mouth for bleeding or signs of a cut but I couldn't see anything. I held him for a little bit and checked his mouth every once and awhile but still didn't see anything so I put him in his cage so he could eat. Now I'm worried that he could get an infection from his food if he does have a cut and I just couldn't see it. What should I be looking for if he does have an infection? The nearest vet that will see him is 2 hours away, it's below zero outside, and roads are terrible so anything I can try and do from home would be great. Scratch that, anything would be great to know! I'm still kind of new to all of this.

Oh, and when I put him in his cage to eat, he only ate half of it and went to the corner of his cage. He normally eats it all.

If you didn't see any blood then he probably didn't cut himself. Just keep an eye on him for the next couple of days and keep track of how much he eats.
