First thing you should do is schedule a veterinary appointment for him. A vet should get a good look in his mouth to determine what is going on with his teeth and to get a good look at his gums.

Once that is figured out, a hedgehog can live just fine with no teeth. I have had a few now that were either completely toothless or had very few teeth.

One of those kids didn't eat anything but hard kibble, thankfully he still have a few teeth. His teeth fell out over time, but when he started losing just a few I started adding a small amount of water to his food in order to make it just a little easier to crunch.

I have had several that I would take 12-15 grams of food and add about 1/4 teaspoon of water to it. It is just enough water to make the outer coating of the kibble easier to bite into.

...and that wasn't something you considered before getting an exotic animal? Either way, a vet that takes small animals will work in emergencies
