Default Not eating or running; white around teeth?

My hegehog hasn't eaten or run on his wheel in the last two days and tonight I decided to try and look in his mouth. It looked like there was some white near his bottom teeth? But I couldn't get his mouth open very far. I tried to take a picture but I'm not sure if you can see it and I don't know exactly how to upload it here. Has anyone had this or a similar experience?

If you can, try and give him some food and water via a syringe. You can read how to here.

Also make an appointment to see the vet. If you think he may have a problem with his mouth he needs to get it checked out. The vet will be able to sedate him and get a better look. It's really important that you get him to the vet quickly. Two days is a long time to go without eating

I took him to the vet tonight..

The good news - his mouth looked okay, either the white I saw last night is no longer there or it was just the bottom of his teeth (which look good), they gave me a syringe to force feed him and a can of wet cat food to try. Gave him some food and water just now, when I got home. The bad news, they are not hedgehog experts and have decided to stop seeing them.

A bit peeved with this since they are who I took my first hedgehog to (11 months ago) and we put him to sleep. Found out that was their first hedgehog. Will be updating this in the veterinarian list.

Made an appointment with the vet they recommended but cannot get in until Monday the 15th. He hasn't been drinking either, his litter box only has a small urine spot on it. I have no idea what to do.

Try to get as much food into him as possible, about 24 ml a day. Give him water each tie you feed him. The less food you get into him the less likely he is to want to eat.
