so my hedgie has been acting completely normal, but she doesnt seem warm on her belly. i may be acting paranoid since it has been getting colder and i turned down my space heater a few degrees but i got a ceramic heater above her cage. she is eating and behaving normally but should i be worried? i check on her constantly when im home. and when she is in her sleep sack on my lap its warm when i take her out.
im not sure of the exact temperature of the cage but its pretty warm when i put my hand in, its pretty warm. i know i need a thermometer but she likes to knock things down in her cage so i haven't found one that just sticks. but the space heater i have is usually kept between 75 and 77 degrees. where she lays and stuff feels warm but to me she doesn't feel warm. but she's eating and drinking normally. not lethargic at all.
A reptile thermometer that hangs from the cage is better than nothing and can alert you to a problem before it becomes a major problem.
You can get a remote read digital thermometer for about $10 or check Amazon.
You really need a thermometer both in summer and winter.
