Default Keeps attempting to hibernate :(

My sweet girl keeps trying hibernate, regardless of the temp. I'm continuously warming her up and trying to keep her active, but she has not been running on her wheel near as much and is not eating as much as she usually does. I am very, very worried. Can someone please help me with some solutions for this worrisome problem? Should I just take Clem to a vet?

I just want to make sure she's not deteriorating or anything. I'm so scared, I've had her less than a year so I've never ran into the complications with lighting and and heat during the winter season like I am now. I've tried to keep her warm and comfortable, but it doesn't seem to be working. Please help!!!

When in doubt, a vet appointment is never a bad idea. Do you have a hedgie knowledgable vet nearby?

What does your heating set up look like? How much consistent light is she getting each day?

Hibernation attempts can sometimes be more common or happen because they're sick, so a vet visit might be a good idea. Agreed with Katis's questions too - what kind of temperatures have you been trying? Is there any chance that it's dipping down lower at night while you're sleeping or that there's a draft or anything that might be chilling her?

What type of heating do you use and do you have a thermometer right in her cage? Is there enough lighting? Has something changed recently that might be allowing a draft on her? Is she at floor level, or under a window.

Sometimes repeated hibernation attempts when heating/lighting/etc is all okay, is a sign of an impending illness. As they age, they often require more heat. Usually this happens closer to 3 or 4, but can happen as young as a year.

What is the temperature that she is hibernating at?
