Default Is it common?

Is it common for domestic hedgies to go into hibernation? What are the signs of hibernation? Is it dangerous? I read somewhere that it can be fatal, is this true?

It can be fatal if you don't catch it fast enough.
Basically, hedgehogs need to be kept between 74F - 78F. If they go below this temperature, they will try to hibernate, However, APH cannot recover from a full hibernation, and will never wake up.

Signs of hibernation include a cool to cold belly, unable to stand, looking wobbly when walking, slow reactions and lethargy.

This thread is old. Please see the dates before posting, the question had already been answer and honestly, you didn't add anything of value to it, please leave dead threads alone. It confuses people and make newbies start posting on them. And creates clutter.
