Hibernation Attempt?
Hey, I'm a first time hedgehog owner, just got him today, and he's just staying in a ball under his wheel. It looks like he's sleeping, but I'm not sure. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I just don't want anything to go wrong.

What is the temperature in his cage?
You say you got him today, he is probably just scared and stressed about the move. If the cage is being kept at the proper temperature then it should not be attempted hibernation. He is probably just trying to find a quiet place to get away. If you are still worried about a hibernation attempt, try picking him up. If he is responsive and feels warm to the touch then you have nothing to worry about.

What's the temperature of his cage and the lighting situation? He could just be sleeping since it's daytime. I would be concerned if his belly feels cold to the touch
