Default Hibernating vs dead

Just discovered my hog laying flat, cold and no response to stimulation. He is stiff and when discovered he was not in his normal spot.

Thoughts?

If his body is stiff then he isn't hibernating. Hibernating hedgehogs are usually balled up tightly, not laying flat. I'm sorry to say it sounds like your hedgehog has passed.
