Default Not sure if quilling!

So the last couple of days, my hedgie has lost about 7 quills. I found 2 quills just now in her cage. Every quill has a little "bulb" in the end, so I know she's losing them naturally, not due to a parasite. There are no bald spots, she does sometimes itch, too. The pet store people weren't sure of her age, but they guessed around 5 months old.

Also, 20 minutes ago she let out a shriek - it concerned me, but then again, she was asleep in her little den (or so I think, when I went to pick her up she huffed in her little ball so I'm not sure)

She's in good health all in all, though. Eats, drinks, walks normally etc.

Is this a sign of gradual quilling?

1. The bulb-on-quill thing is a myth: quill loss could be from quilling, mites, stress, or just normal occasional quill-shedding over time. Occasional quill-loss is no big deal; excessive quill loss, bare patches, or excessive itching is a time for concern.

2. Hedgehogs can all sorts of noises in their sleep. Archive discussion on sleepy-noises.

Sounds like everything is fine. If the scratching increases to the point it seems obsessive (for mine, waking up to scratch in the middle of the day), consider visiting a vet to check for mites, but if it's just a few lazy-wakeup-rearrange-the-quills scratches, I wouldn't worry about it.
