Default quilling sine wave?

Hi guys,

Reggie is currently undergoing his 4-5 month old quilling, and it's been coming and going in a sort of sine wave-- heavy for a few days, light for a few, then heavy again... I thought he had finished last week but he lost maybe 10-15 quills when I had him out today. His skin is no drier than normal hedgie skin, thanks to oatmeal baths, and his skin flakes don't move.

Is it normal for quilling to fluctuate or should I be worried??

I will let the experts answer your question; but I do love your little Reggie! His picture is so precious!

Here's a graph of Reginald's quill loss for the last six months.
