Default Losing Quills!

My sweet Betsy has been losing more quills than usual lately. I've been assuming that its because of her dry skin, I added a humidifier to my room and made sure it didn't get too hot. But she's defiantly losing quills. Every time I go to wake her up there are quills scattered across her cage.
What are some possible causes? Should I be concerned or worried?

How old is she? If she is of quilling age, she may just be going through the changes. If it is really bad, it could be mites.

She is roughly a year old. I have a fleece liner in her cage and everything. It's just randomly started happening. She acts normal and I never really see her scratching.

The more I look at her the more I think it's dry skin, though.

Maybe a late quilling? I would wait for someone with more experience to anwser or see a vet if it doesn't get better. Sometimes an oatmeal bath will help with skin issuses, but I don't know if supplements will help with quill loss... Sorry ^_^

I've been giving her oat meal and olive oil baths. I've got her in my lap right now and she doesn't look to have any bald patches or anything. But all the quills she has lost are ones with the bulbs on the ends, if that means anything.

Some hedgehogs will go through 6 months, and 1 year quillings. Reginald is at the tail end of a six month quilling right now. Just keep mitigating the dry skin, and keep in mind that she'll be grumpier than normal as the new ones grow in.

Hello guys I haven't been here in quite awhile and it's been awhile since I've posted anything but I am a little concerned about Zoey. I've noticed yesterday she's been scratching.. not furiously but just when she wakes up she'll scratch for about a minute or so.. but this morning I went to clean her cage and noticed she has lost maybe 20 quills. Im thinking maybe she is quilling again since she is around 7 months.. as you all know I got her last year in November around thanksgiving and she was fully weaned when I got her so could she possibly be quilling? She has had fleece in her cage since she come home so there's no way she could have mites could she?? please someone reply soon. thank you all for your help.

I've noticed that Mimzy is doing the same thing and she is about the same age. Quilling time again. Her last wasn't very long and she didn't loose a lot of spines. I guess some just quill differently than others. I've heard that some quill at 6 months, 9 months and again at 12 months - or so I've heard. Such is life. I didn't have to go through the "grumpy" stage since she only quilled lightly.

Betsy doesn't seem anymore grumpy than usual. Lol. There are just quills everywhere. I stepped on one in my living room the other day.
