Default 7 months old QUILLING?

I am a first time owner of a hedgie and his name is Saffy.

In last few days, I saw some quills in his cage. 2-4 quills so I thought it was pretty normal. But just this morning, I freaked out when I saw 16 quills in his cage. I doubt that its is because of mites. I search on google the symptoms of mites but it seems that Saffy doesn't have any symptoms. His quills looks normal since it has roots or bulb at the end (like human hair). In the past few days he's been pretty close to me. Saffy even slept beside me! But now, he seems grumpy and huffs a lot more. I am thinking of giving him an oatmeal bath. His skin looks kind of dry.

Oh yeah, I haven't seen any new quills poking through tho. :/
what to do? any help?

Some hedgies have an adult quilling between 6-12 months. Thistle also quilled at 7 months and I remembered being panicked at all the quills she was dropping. She lost over a hundred during the course of about a week. But after the week they stopped coming out and I could start to noticed new ones poking through. She's been doing just fine ever since.

It very well could have been a mite. It really would be best if you took him to the vet to get checked out. If it is mites, they are easily treated with kitten revolution.
