Default Ingrown quill?

Hey everyone. I was inspecting Harvey a few minutes ago, and noticed what I think might be an ingrown quill behind her ear I looked at the posts relating to this and none answered my question definitively since no issues like this are identical. I guess I would just like some input about it. She's been behaving normally but I did notice her itching the other night when she was on her wheel. I thought it was just because she likes rubbing her poop socks on herself because she hadn't been itching when I had her out to play. This is a pretty good picture of what it looks like.

Have you tried to move it?

I tried to smooth it down but it doesn't lay flat. I have not tried to pull it out. I'm not sure I could, honestly haha.

Yeah, it looks ingrown to me...You could try giving it a couple gentle tugs if she'll let you, and see what happens. Lily's ingrown quills, I took her to the vet for them because I was too nervous to do anything, and they both came out pretty easily when the vet pulled with forceps.

Okay thank you! I just got my brother to help me out, and it came out and she didn't make a peep, she was so good. This is what it looks like:

Yup, ingrown! Glad it came out easily. If there's still a hole, or if it looks icky at all, you can put a bit of plain Neosporin/Polysporin (NOT pain relief or extra strength) on the spot to help it heal up, and keep an eye on it for the next night or two.
