Default 40 Quills

Hi,

New owner. I think he's about 4 months old. I understand quill in and all, but I was just curious how many they might typically lose in one day. I just picked up 40 lost quills after having cleaned his cage yesterday. Normal? Higher than normal?

Thanks!

I've seen him scratch a time or two but it's not a constant thing or anything.

It sounds like your little boy's quilling then. As long as he isn't scratching frantically and isn't developing bald patches he's okay. Do you see quills growing in perhaps?

I figured... just was curious about the normal amount lost at once. I counted 31 yesterday. So that was 71 quills over 48 hours!
