Default Huffle's Quill Problem

I have treated Huffle for mites, and taken him to the vet, who just treated him for mites, but we are still having a quill issue and I'm wondering if it could be diet related. When I first got him I read that the Natural Balance LID was a great food for hedgehogs, and I have been feeding it to him for a little over a year. However, in the past 3 months he has started loosing quills like crazy. I used the care fresh paper bedding, which I freeze when I first bring it home to prevent mites, his cage is kept clean, and he is litter trained. He also has unlimited access to water. Is there some deficiency he could have?
On average he loses 3-4 quills while I'm holding him. I have a spray to help his skin, it doesn't seem dry.

This is the food I'm using.

Has the vet checked for a bacterial or fungal infection? How many treatments did the vet do and what did he use?

She used revolution and she did one and I've traded him monthly since. She looked under a microscope, but said she didn't find anything.

Bacterial and fungal infections wouldn't be seen under the microscope like that. The skin scraping would need to be cultured to see if there is an infection.
