Default Quilling?

Two weeks ago I bought a one+ (not exactly sure how old, his previous owner just said a little over a year) year old named Buddy. He's made great progress getting used to me and his new home. Today when I was holding him I noticed that one of the quills on the front of his head was pointing forward when the rest of his quills were relaxed. I though that was odd, but I figured he must have got it stuck on something in his cage, because it wasn't like that last night. Then when I was putting him back I stepped on one that was sticking up in my carpet. 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! I think he's two old to be quilling, but I just want to know if it's normal for them to lose a few quills or if it could be something else.

Hedgehogs lose quills like humans lose hair. A couple here and there are normal, but if he starts losing gobs of quills, take him to the vet immediately.
