Default Strange Quills and Red Spots PLEASE HELP!!!!

So, Hercules lost a lot of the quills on to of his head and butt area due to an allergic reaction.
He quickly grew back many of his quills. His quills are growing in MUCH longer, though. Not only that, but they have like a "piece of dry skin" about half-way up the quill (where the quill should normally end) and then from that point down, they really tin out going into his skin..like REALLY thin. Also, quite a few grew back sort of cooked/bent.

ANOTHER thing: I have been noticing tiny red spots on his skin (back where his quills are)..it sort of looks like irritation, I'm hoping from quills trying to poke through. Is that a possible cause? He is also slightly itcky at night, I am also hoping from possible quill growth.

He is having NO quill loss right now.

He is eating, drinking, pooping, etc fine. He is on an antibiotic right now from having a little cough and runny nose.

He acts fine, but his new quills and those red marks are begining to become a huge concern to me.

We were just at the jet and she didn't say anything about either, maybe she just didn't notice?

PLEASE help!!! Thank you

It's really hard to see the wilds from the pictures. But as far as the red spots, the spot in the lower right is from him anointing. The one mainly in the middle is an example of one of his about 5 spots.

They do look a little bit odd to me as well, but I have no idea what the cause could be. You may want to return to your vet and specifically point the quills out.

Usually the people who can help you with this are on in the mornings or afternoons, so you'll have to wait a bit to get any input from them. Don't panic yet, and hopefully someone else chimes in to help tomorrow!
