Default Normal Loss for Quilling?

Hi, my hedgehog Arti is just over 9 weeks old and his is quilling. His 6 week quilling went well, as well as it could for coming into a strange home and being separated from your family all while having thousands of sharp objects poke through your skin at the same time. He never lost more than maybe 20-25 quills per day that I found.

Now that he is in his 9 week quilling he lost 40 quills last night and just under 80 quills today. Is this normal? His quills are thinner that what they were when he finished out his 6 week quilling, but when he was quilling then his quills were thinner too and filled back in.

I don't see any itching from him although his shin is very dry and flaky. I just want to make sure this amount of quill loss is normal.

Hoping to bump this because I have a similar situation- my 10 week old hedgie dumped 60 quills overnight. All healthy bulbs on the ends of baby quills, no bald patches, etc. I'm pretty confident nothing is wrong, but is it typical to lose that many all at once? His 7 week quilling only had him losing about 3 a day.
