Exclamation Revolution Help!!

Hello,
I'm just wondering, could we put Shelby on Revolution just because we are suspecting mites? If so, what type of Revolution do we use? Cats or dogs? Or should we just go to the vet?

Does any of you know where to order Revolution off of the internet?

Thanks!

I believe it is revolution for kittens and I know one of the experienced mods here posted a thread at one time showing recommended dosages for hedgehogs. I would look up the thread, I think it was Nancy who did it.

I order mine from Petshed.com, it's called "Stronghold" because it's from a different country but it's exactly the same as Revolution. I ordered the kitten dosage, and only administered 1 drop of it per hedgehog.

Here is some dosage info:
Someone asked about whether to use kitten or cat Revolution... Here is some info I found as to what is in each tube of Revolution (called Stronghold in UK):
Stronghold 15 mg: 0.25 ml 6% selamectin - kitten
Stronghold 30 mg: 0.25 ml 12% selamectin
Stronghold 45 mg: 0.75 ml 6% selamectin - cats 5 - 15 lbs
Stronghold 60 mg: 0.5 ml 12% selamectin
Stronghold 120 mg: 1 ml 12% selamectin
Stronghold 240 mg: 2 ml 12% selamectin respectively.

Looks like the only difference between the kitten dose and 5-15lb cat dose is that you get three times the fluid in the cat one while they are identical in concentration.

And it's safe for Shelby to use even if she doesn't have it?

It's a topical medication, so even if she really doesn't have mites, she should be ok. Keep a close eye on her food and water intake while she is being treated. Watch for unusual behaviour. Don't assume nothing can go wrong, there is always a risk associated with medication. But honestly she will probably be just fine.
Remember to look for that thread though. It should answer all of your questions.

I just want to add something.
If you order from another country it will take awhile to get it. I read your other post and I think you need to treat him ASAP. I personally think you will be better off going to the vet this time and tell them you need revalotion and check him out. It sounds like your little guys having a rough time.
Then keeping some on had for future use helps. It's easy to dose but if you go to the vet they can show you.

The vets the quickest way of treatment right now IMO

Ok thanks ! The problem is, I don't think are vets really work with hedgehogs. Is there any quicker way to order it?
I looked at the Revolution Sticky, and I figured out how to apply it to her.

And I also went to 1800-petmeds.com and will be getting it in 5-7 days.

Revolution is all the same product whether is is for cats or dogs. The boxes are dosed by weight. So technically you could buy the biggest dog revolution and dose it correctly (give the right amount for the size of your hedgehog) and it would be fine. I know this as I am a vet assistant and work with revolution daily.
