Default Mites?

Could this be mites? I got my hedgehog 4 months ago and Briar has very dry skin, is losing 7-10 quills a day and a yellow build up at the base of her quills. Also, could the mites go to my other hedgehog and could mites be the cause of why my hedgehog is so aggressive?

It may just be gruppy from quilling. A vet visit would rule out mites for sure and if it does have mites you could get it treated right a way before they get worse. It would be a good idea to get both treated if one has them because they can get transfered from one to another by hitching a ride on you when you are handleing them even if they never contact each other.

It sounds like mites, the yellow build up is a good sign for mites. It could be making her aggressive because she's uncomfortable. They can be transmitted to your other hedgehog. Is you other hedgehog a male or female? If it's a male they should never meet, even supervised.
