Default Mite treatment

Here is the problem... While cleaning my rats' cages I found two of them with a heavy mite/lice infestation. I treated all 4 of my rats and my 2 gerbils with revolution and will clean their cages out tomorrow with bleach and add new bedding that is currently in the freezer. My worry is that once everything is treated the mites will look for a new food source. My hedgehog is in a different room but these things seem capable of travel. So, should I treat the hedgehog with revolution now or wait to see if he gets infected? Can you treat a hedgehog every month?

Most mites are species-specific, but it doesn't hurt to be careful. Revolution can be used preventatively, but I wouldn't use it that way long term. But it should be fine if you want to treat him with it once or twice while you're making sure this infestation is completely gone.
