Default what fabric?

i have used aspen for my hedgehog for a little while now and i feel that a fabric is safer cleaner and just all around better but i don't want to buy something that will cut the circulation off her legs or hurt the baby who is about to get her own cage what should i be looking for in the fabric ?

It just depends on the fabric. If the polyester is a knit you'll still have to be careful just like you would for a cotton knit. Polyester knits in my experience (not hedgie experience just with sewing and using it) tend to snag and when they do the pieces become almost elastic and can cut where as a cotton thread may be more likely to break away (both could still be dangerous). You'd have to be careful with any option but if you kept a very close eye it may work. I have cut my fingers on polyester threads before though and it went pretty deep. My favorite hedgie fabrics are fleece (which can be done no sew) or flannel (if you can sew and hide the seams).
Just wanted to give you a heads up on a possible complication but I can't not say with 100% accuracy cause Ive never used that kind in a hedgie cage so its also possible it could work good also

Most everyone here uses Fleece fabric liners. You can buy it by the yard from $2(clearance) to $10 or so.

The fabric you have there would likely snag toenails easily and be difficult to clean. Go get some cheap fleece, it's the best.
