Well after only 2 days I am fed up with Carefresh bedding. The only reason I had used it was I had a big bag of it lying around. Waffles has a spacious C&C cage that I made with a removable lid allowing me to walk in and scoop her up easily. My problem is the carfresh sticks to EVERYTHING! Her fleece blankies, her stuffed toys, her back you name it and it sticks! Not to mention the mess it makes in her water bowl and the annoyance of having to "filter" the food back into the bowl when she decides to use her food as confetti.
I want to make some fleece liners for her cage but I am not sure if I am going to do it right. Do I just need to use one piece of fleece or are several pieces at a time better? Should I have something underneath the fleece to absorb the urine? Also to help keep it in place I was thinking about adding fleece ties to the sides/corners and drilling holes in the side of the coroplast to tie the fleece in place, bad or good idea? I have never made fleece liners before so any help is appreciated! Thanks you guys! |

I made mine with a sewing machine I had two layers of cotton on the outside and a layer of quilting batting sandwiched inbetween and they were all sewn together. I'm not sure how sophisticated yours will be, but even just a thick fleece blanket cut to size sounds good.

Most people just buy some fleece and cut it up to fit the cage, i do mine 2 layers thick as i want it to be a bit more comfortable
![]() With the state of Turbos cage every morning I cannot imagine having bedding to add to that ![]() |

Yup measure the cage, measure the fleece cut to fit. You'll end up with a whole pile of liners from just a few meters of fabric. I have more than I will ever use up between washings. I wouldn't use ties to keep them in place. I have a feeling that fleece isn't conducive to that sort of use. Pluse if you did it by drilling holes in the corroplast and then didn't like it or it didn't work you couldn't un-drill the holes. However I can't see any safety reason not to do it, it just feels unnessary and a bit complicated to me.
