Default Best Product for Smelly Hedgie Cage

Hey guys,

I just moved to New Hampshire, and my hedgehog is in his own little room now! However, that means that his cage seems even smellier since the room is smaller than his previous one. I was on the hunt for something that would get rid of the smell, without any need for covering it up with fragrances (obviously not good for their little noses), and also not super expensive. After lots of googling and review-reading I found a plug-in odor eliminator made by Hamilton Beach. I got mine at Walmart for less than $15. I've been using it about a week and I have noticed a drastic reduction in odor. It makes wheel cleaning much more pleasant, and when I walk into his room in the morning I no longer deal with a wall of stench. It works like a little air filter. Since I've not had it very long I am not sure how often the filters need to be changed. I will keep everyone updated on that, as well as effectiveness over time.

Hoping this will help some other owners of smelly hedgehogs out there! In combination with regular wheel/cage cleaning, and removing wheel cleaning waste immediately, the room smells normal!

Here is the link to the product on Walmart's website: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Hamilton-B...nator/16672675

Awesome, glad you found something that works for you! It's always good to have another option to suggest to people, especially an inexpensive one!
