Default Pooping inside igloo!

I thought they wouldn't poop where they slept, but when we got to take him out of his cage, there has been poop in his igloo the past few nights!

Does he have a litter-box?

Try giving him a second igloo. Sometimes they like to have a private place to potty.

Pottying in bed is also quite common for babies or those getting used to a new home.

He has a litter box, but we haven't introduced it to his cage yet, because it seems like the general consensus on here is that babies poop anywhere and everywhere they want!

If it's just a baby thing I won't worry about it, though it does make me cringe that he's sleeping in his own poops.

Mine is already going on her paper towel exclusively and she turned 8 weeks this past Friday. I just say this in case you wanted to try so that you'd know its possible Her first few days though I'd find them everywhere until she got the knack of it. I also noticed even now that she uses the paper towel sometimes if she isn't careful and walks through it that pieces end up getting dragged into her sleeping spot. The trick I think on why mine do so good with it is because I leave the paper towels connected and fold them so they will actually hide under the top one and go on the underneath layers. Nancy had a really good idea too with the second Igloo

Give him a litter box now. The sooner you get him started the more chance he will catch on.

Herisson will always use his igloo as his personal outhouse. I removed the igloo and gave him a sleeping bag instead. Then he started going potty under his liner. I finally watched him and it seemed like he wanted to bury his stuff. I tried a litter-box and he loves it.

What kind of wheel do you have? Larry's wheel comes with a litter-box that is conveniently located to the wheel. Quillbert used a litter-box about 50% of the time before his Carolina Storm wheel arrived. Now he rarely goes anywhere other than it or the wheel.

I did a poll on litter-box use and also preferred litter.

Yes, I know I'm lucky they both love a litter-box.
