Personally, it looks kind of dangerous to me. Most hedgehogs don't have a good sense of edges or heights, and they will walk right off the edge of something without batting an eyelash. That's why any ramps and multiple layers need to be completely enclosed. That hideout with the dishes on top is just an accident waiting to happen for most hogs.

I would never use that in a cage.

Definitely going to have to agree with what Lilysmommy mentioned. Unless you plan on modifying the hideout so that there is no way the hedgie can fall off, it's probably not a very good idea. Since the hedgie would be climbing up there multiple times a day to get food and water, I'd say the chances of a fall happening are pretty high. The fall itself doesn't seem too bad from a human perspective, but I've heard of hedgehogs sustaining injuries even from climbs that short. It's probably better to be safe than sorry. Also, I know a lot of hedgehogs absolutely refuse to use second levels in cages, even when they have a convenient ramp to walk up. Your hedgehog might not understand the concept of climbing the little stairs or might just not have any interest in going up there.
