Default How Noisy Is Your Wheel?

How much noise does your hedgehog usually make when running?

I'm talking about the noise of the wheel, but also does his/her nails make noise on the plastic?

Several years ago we had a pet hampster who was always running in her wheel at night. The wheel itself was silent, but her toenails scrabbled on the plastic and it was pretty loud.

How much noise do you get? and does the noise come from the wheel itself? or just the hog toes?

I have a Carolina Storm Wheel so the wheel itself doesn't make a sound (literally). The only thing I hear is his little nails tapping away on the plastic. He make more noise when he eats than when he's wheeling.

Same here. I can hear the pitter patter of her little feet, but her eating is much louder.

I wish my wheel would be silent when paprika runs on it
..I really need to take it apart this weekend and WD40 it all over! ...in the meantime I'll continue sleeping with earplugs and a fan pointing at my face... :/

I currently have a comfort wheel in Liam's cage, and let me tell you, that thing is SO LOUD. His cage is in the living room, outside my bedroom, and I can hear him every night. It's mostly the wheel creaking around, but I can hear his little feet too. I've kind of gotten used to it, but upgrading to a CSW (or something similar) is definitely next on my hedgie to-do list.

Since switching to the CSW life has been sweet dreams!!

Daisy lives 3 feet from my bed, so the first two nights she had her horrid comfort wheel I was litteraly in tears in the morning from the noise! We quickly changed to a silent flying saucer.

The flying saucer was used while we waiting for the CSW wheel....

Now all I hear is the comforting pitter patter of Daisy's little feet on the CSW MAGIC wheel!

Ah, the sweet sweet Carolina Storm Wheel! :P

Pliny used to have a Comfort Wheel, and it sounded like there was a herd of elephants stampeding through my living room every night! Now he has a CSW and it is all silent bliss. All I hear is the patter of his teeny feet as he motors along.

Put me on the 'Former Comfort Wheel' owners list. Switched to the CSW this week and my nights are much quieter.

CSW for Hazel and all you can hear are her little feet. She lives in my daughters room and my daughter has no problem sleeping. Her guinea pig is louder.
