Talking This is why you DO NOT USE silent spinners!!!

The picture is upsetting for some, so I apologize. But I found this and those using a silent spinner who refuse to get something safer should really take a look and realize how terrible they can be for your little one.

The picture was posted by EinsteinsMama on here. The comments made by aydr33 are cut and paste from my review on Silent Spinners both in this thread. viewtopic.php?f=43&t=14937

Thank you Nancy! I tried to find something like this on this site, but I didn't dig deep enough I guess. Thank you!

It kind of looks like paint to me, any experience I've had with animal blood ( cats dogs etc.) It dried and was more of a brownish colour.

I hope it would be paint. My heart broke when I saw it!

I highly doubt it's paint. I've had numerous on bucket wheels that showed red like that.

Nope, not paint.

I woke up to Daisy's wheel like this once... it was AWFUL looking too, same colour. It ended up being she had a small cut on her foot.

I've also seen this with gerbils in the past, I had 2 over the years with ear issues, and the spray and amount and colour of blood were unreal.

I believe it was a friend of the person who took that picture posted about it a year or so ago, and yes, unfortunately it was real. I was inclined to guess paint at first too.

Blood turns bright red when it's exposed to oxygen in the air, otherwise its much darker. Like when you go for a blood test and your blood in the vile appears to be a very dark purply-red colour, but when you scrape your knee it bleeds a bright red.

Thank you for posting this. I was told by my pet store that silent spinners are ok for g
Hedgehogs. I'm still getting use to this site and figuring everything out. But last night I took out my baby's silent spinner and first thing this morning I bought her a bucket wheel. I hope she loves it!
