So, as most of you might know, I got my boy a wheel that looks like this :
It's the pink one I have gotten after the blue one was proven to hurt my hog more than provide a source of exercise for him. Sadly though, (as expected), it started falling apart. I once woke up in the middle of the night when it sounded as if my hog just fell off of his wheel. I immediately got up and looked at what happened. The wheel unclipped while he was running, and was basically completely separate of the base of the wheel. so the coloured part came off and was separate. I immediately came up with a plan to secure the wheel, since taking it out and throwing it away isn't an option. (he refuses to go to the bathroom without a wheel.) Every night when I wash his wheel, I tape the clips with sellotape. It helps a lot with keeping the wheel whole, and sturdy. I asked my mom to please order me a Carolina Storm Wheel for my birthday or Christmas or as soon as possible (whenever she has money, I already give her my income). She agreed, but didn't give me a certain date, so now I'm just hoping the wheel doesn't develop any other problems. The wheel make isn't bad itself, just the place I bought it from didn't really keep it in good quality. That's probably why it wore out so quickly. |

I cant remember what wheel it is, and the picture isnt coming up!
You could always look into making one - like look up all the bits you need and then make your own bucket wheel This thread (the link) has a link to a good instruction although instead of using zip ties I'm going to screw it because it makes the wheel sturdier. Obviously work out the costs and see which one comes to a more cost effect or if they are about the same, but it worked out cheaper for me https://www.hedgehogcentral.com/forums/#/topics/191540 The link for making the wheel is up the top one of the first few posts. |

Thank you for the link!
I already thought about building my own, but I'm not very crafty at all, and I did work it all out and it will basically cost the same, with extra struggling to put it together and risk of malfunctioning. So me and my mom ultimately decided that buying one would be easier. |
