Default No Wheel

I have a 13 week old hedgie. I never catch her on the wheel (but I know she goes on because I find the pee&poop) so I only just discovered today that she is too big for her starter wheel (her back is arching and she falls off). It definitely looks too dangerous to keep in there. I bought the larger size wheel but it's too big to fit in her bin so basically I need to get her a new enclosure or a different/shorter wheel. I think one of the California Storm wheels would work, but it will probably take a week or so to arrive and I don't know what to do in the meantime. I know it could be bad for her not to have any wheel for a week. What do I do?

I'm also moving in a little under 2 weeks so I'm hoping to get this all squared away before the move. Also, I only saw two types of wheels on the California Storm website, the bucket and the express wheels, but I thought there was supposed to be a regular (larger - 12 in.) one.

If anyone has any suggestions/information, please let me know. Thanks!

Hi my new hedgie doesn’t use his wheel either ! And I know he had one in his enclosure at the breeders. Have you seen the flying saucer ones? Maybe one of those would fit in your enclosure better so you don’t have to buy a whole new home for your hedgie ? I may buy one today to try

If your cage is to small for a bigger wheel then it's also to small for your hedgehog. I would get a bigger cage asap.

It is the cage I got from the breeder who said it is big enough for an adult hedgehog. It is not the width/length that is the problem, it is the height. However, I purchased the california storm bucket wheel and that fits just fine. Thanks everyone!

How big is your cage? It should be a minimum of 8 square feet. Unfortunately many breeders sell cages that are much to small.
