Default Silent runner wheel

Hi there. There is a supplier in South Africa that have imported the silent runner wheel...I had a look at it and it looks good...it has smooth running surface...very much like the wodent wheel....anybody used it? Any concerns?

It looks pretty good. The only thing I would be slightly wary of is the "textured running surface," but as long as the texture isn't something that their little feet could get caught on then you are all set. I have seen a youtuber using one before, but have never personally known anyone that has had one. It's an intriguing wheel.

Hedgehogs are prone to peeing and pooping on their wheels as they run, and also getting on/off the wheel suddenly. For both of these reasons enclosed wheels like this one aren't a good idea. I wouldn't consider it quite as dangerous as a wire wheel, but I also really wouldn't recommend using them.

If you could remove the face of it so that the front is open without damaging the wheel, it might be ok to use.

I got one that looks very similar to the one on the picture. To prevent nails getting stuck between the frontal piece and the actual wheel, I just took off the frontal piece. In that setting it works fine for my hedgie.
