No sew cage liner

Would doing a no sew fleece liner where you tie knots all the way around the outside be bad for a cage liner? Also, I saw someone said they did this method for a sleeping bag too which gave the hedge some extra pieces on the inside to snuggle into for warmth. Is this a bad idea?
