Question Moving

I have to make to three different moves with my new baby I'll be in my friends house for three days, my aunts for a month, and our new house. Is that going to be extremely stressful for her???

Just try to keep all other variants as constant as possible. Same cage, light schedule, constant temp, etc and she should be just fine!

It might be a bit stressful, but sounds like it can't be avoided. Some things you can do to minimize the stress on her -

- Make sure her schedule stays the same as much as possible. Get her out at the same time each night, make sure she's able to sleep enough during the day, etc.

- Make sure the room her cage in is quiet & if there's other animals in the house, try to keep them away from her (or out of the room completely if possible). I would personally minimize or restrict having many other people hold her during all of the moving around, though they might be interested in her.

- Make sure her light & temperature stay the same (kind of goes along with keeping the same schedule). Make sure it's dark enough at night for her in whichever room she's in.

- Don't clean the cage at your friend's house if you can help it, since you'll be there such a short time. The wheel could be cleaned, but make sure the bedding or liner is the same (and don't change it for a day or two before you leave to go to your friend's either). Leave it for the first couple days or so at your aunt's as well, if possible (or at least the first day) before you change it & clean the cage. If you do use liners & sleeping bags or anything like that, change one thing at a time - for example, change the liner one day, then after a day or two, change her sleeping bag. That way her house will always smell like her, at least. Ditto for when you move to the new house - make sure you leave the same bedding in for a day or two before the move, then a day or two after the move.

- Last thing I can think of, if you're moving far enough that the water will be different, it's not a bad idea to fill some water bottles up with your home water (unless you use bottled water or a filter anyway) so that you can do slow transitions over a week or so with her water. Sometimes a water change can cause an upset stomach.
