Hi there! Recently adopted my first hedgie, and it has turned into a rescue!
Hi there, my name is Heather and almost 2 weeks ago I adopted a Hedgie from someone on Kijiji who claimed they no longer had time to take care of him. Turns out, they were right. The poor guy has never been to the vet, and has not been properly taken care of. He is extremely timid and nervous of absolutely everything.
I took him (his name is Rupert!) to his first vet appointment today. Turns out, he is very obese (one of the largest hedgies the vet has seen) and has terrible mites. He is now being treated for mites and is in the process of changing his diet.
I've recently just been a lurker on this site, but have now joined because this site has helped me immensely in learning about hedgies and what is best for my new buddy. So thank you to everyone here!
My vet is absolutely amazing. And they take pictures of your little one during his visit as well! Just thought I would share!
Little Rupert coming out of his sedation, and during. <3
