Default New Hedgie Mom

Hi guys I posted a couple times before but thought I should properly introduce myself now that I've adopted my new baby!
I'm currently a full time college student. I'm doing my prereqs for the nursing program, looking to get into psychiatric nursing. I have a fiance who I've been with almost 2.5 years. I live with my mom in a smallish town, and we really have no family nearby! Plus, I'm an only child so I get very lonely, and thus resort to the company of animals. I've always had pets, mostly small ones. I've had parrots, cockatoos, hamsters, fish, a guinea pig, a chinchilla, and rats. Now, I have a wonderful little ball of spikes. I don't know his name yet (any suggestions?) but he is tiny still, not yet 2 months old and I suspect he will be a pinto color. I am in love! I can't wait to be part of this hedgehog community :)

Oh my gosh, he's such a cutie! I'm sure you will find just the right name for him!

He's really sweet too. He lets me hold and pet his face and sides, and falls asleep on me already!

Congrats on your new addition! He's a cutie. No name suggestions though, I too am in the middle of trying to name a new little boy....not so easy, but I figure when the right name strikes I will know it!

So stinkin cute! Love that second one of him laying kind of openly...that's great! As for names my advice is that you will figure out what fits just right. When we adopted ours I had pre-picked the name (Oliver) and was so set on it that it was the entire reason we got a boy! Well we got him home and I just didn't feel like the name was right. So he was nameless for a few days while we tested out a few others...until we settled on Henry. It just felt right! Good luck and be sure to let us know if you have any questions!

Congrats on the new prickly ball of adorability. Super cute photos.

We made a page here with a collection of hedgie names we found or came up with that we liked when we were getting ours. Maybe something there might be helpful. We went with Princess Penelope Pricklepants for our sweet quill-baby.

Thanks guys! I think he is going to be named Liam It means "defendor/protector/helmet" so it fits. By the way, he is apparently only 5 weeks old. Should I be worried?
