Hello!
Hi Everyone,
I just want to introduce myself. We (my family) have been wanting a hedgie for a while, ever since my husband was going ga-ga over their cuteness in pictures on the web. He has allergies to a lot of pets along with asthma, and has never really had pets, even growing up. I on the other hand grew up in a home that always had at least a couple pets at any given time - cat, dog, guinea pig, rabbit, etc. So when he said he wanted to get a hedgie, I was thrilled! We have three kids and the only pets they had up to this point were fish, and I do think interacting with animals is really beneficial to children. (My kids are 12, 10, and 5.) We were figuring out where we could get one and how much we would need to save up, when a co-worker of my husband sent out an e-mail saying her daughter was looking to sell her 2 1/2 year old female hedgie to someone who could spend more time with her because she had started college and wasn't able to give her the attention she needed. So we brought Paulette home on Sunday and we are in love with her. The children may only take her our under supervision. The 12-year-old is quite comfortable with her; the 10-year-old is timid but will hold/pet her a bit, and so far the 5 year old hasn't touched her; he just likes watching her.  I'm tickled that my husband is totally taken with this adorable, funny little critter.
