Hi, I'm ZooGirl, and as you may have guessed, I own a zoo
![]() To date I have 1 dog and 3 birds, which is a zoo in itself, if any of you have ever taken care of birds :P I'm a bird girl, but I'd love to own a hedgehog or two. Recently, a small breeder moved just up the street from me. It's like fate ![]() I know some basic hedgehog information, but I know from experience there is no other experience than a good animal-related forum. I am an active participant on bird forums, and I look forward to knowing more about hedgehogs. ![]() Hope to see you all on the forums! ![]() |

Hi!
You guys will soon find out my many quirks, but here's one of them. I like to name pets I don't have (and may never have). I would like to have an albino hedgehog named Champagne Snowflake (Just Champagne for short), and maybe a "normal" (not sure what the typical color combo is called, sorry) named Cider. I think that'd e cute, Champagne + Cider <3 |

Did you know there's an actual colour pattern called "Champagne Snowflake"? The pattern is 30-70% banded quills, 30-70% solid white, where the banded quills are 25% cinnamon, and 75% pale orange-beige.
Any of the chocolate, brown, cinnamon range of colours would totally make an excellent Cider! Here's a whole bunch of colour descriptions, most of them with photos (although, alas, only champagne has a photo, not champagne snowflake). Because it's bound to come up sooner or later: "Salt and pepper" is the colour most people who don't research hedgehog colours think they all are, so it's the default name, yet in reality it's the most rare colour, highly valued by breeders so rarely sold. |

Hi Ohioan!
![]() That's so weird ![]() For my Champagne, I'd like her to be either the actual color variety or one of the white varieties, preferably White (Cinnamon White) For Cider, I agree with the chocolate/brown/cinnamon idea. I'm not picky on colors, as any of them would look fabulous. ![]() Not to mention, the breeder down my street is a very small one, and does it mainly for hobby, so I'm not sure what color varieties she has. I'll probably end up getting my Cider from her ![]() Glad to meet all of you! Hedgehogs are so cute ![]() |
