Exclamation Long time lurker, new hedgie mommy

After years of wanting a little hedgehog to call my own, I recently became a new hedgie mommy to the adorable Meeko.

I am so happy to finally be a part of this informative and friendly community. I never would be able to care for my little one as I have without the help of Hedgehog Central. Thanks to all of you longtime breeders and new owners alike. I am so impressed by the knowledge and genuine interest in the well being of these wonderful creatures.

I purchased Meeko from a wonderful, licensed breeder only about an hour away from me. I had been subscribed to her email listing for a few months and when I saw the pictures of the batch of hedgie babies she sent out at about 4 am (I was still awake, being the night owl that I am.) and I saw Meeko's bright, curious face I knew he was perfect for me. I strive to be perfect for him and this website helps me provide him with the care he needs.

Thanks for being here for me and my baby Meeko. After only a few weeks with me, he is so friendly and easy to handle. I couldn't be doing this so well without you all. Thanks and I hope I can become a valuable part of this community.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on being a new mommy. Hedgies are the greatest pets around. I agree, there are lots of great people on this site with tons of knowledge. We all just want what is best for the hedgies.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

Yes, Meeko is quite spoiled with only the best for my baby <3

Unfortunately today he has had to undergo a lot of stress because a fuse in my house almost caused a fire and we had to evacuate the house and of course the first thing I did was get all of our pets safely out. Everything is okay but I feel so bad putting him under so much stress and commotion, but I would rather that than risk him getting hurt. Poor baby.

He really has completely stolen my heart, the little rascal.

Wow how scary! That is one of my worst fears, so glad it turned out okay!

Welcome to the forum Meeko is absolutely adorable! He is such a lucky little guy for ending up with you, you seem like a great hedgie-mommy.
