Exclamation Future Hedgie hog mommy.

Hi I'm Angel!!

I can't wait to get the money and place to own one of these cutie patooties.
It's name will be Dipper (doesn't matter if I get a boy or girl).
The name comes from the cartoon Gravity Falls.

I joined this to get some advice for an "expecting mother".
Thank you and stay cute!!

Welcome! It sounds like you have plenty of time to read up on hedgie ownership, so I'd recommend that you just start browsing the forums. I'd start with the Health, Diet & Nutrition, and the Housing & Accessories forums, since that info will be top priority for a new hedgie owner. This place is the best resource, especially since the more you learn, the more questions you'll have!

Welcome to the forum! My friend would love your future hedgie's name, she loves Gravity Falls. To add to Abbys's suggestions, I also recommend you check out this hedgehog care book - http://www.westcoasthedgehogs.com/files ... index.html It's written by one of our moderators, LizardGirl, and it's free to download. It has a lot of the main, basic information available from the forum, but it's much more organized. It's a great book, especially for new owners!

I just wanted to say HI and welcome to the forum. It is such an exciting time leading up to getting your first hedgehog! If you have any particular questions, ask away.
Good luck with everything,

Being financially prepared is definitely important. Piglet was a surprise birthday gift and I wouldn't trade him for the world, but I was really unprepared for the spur of the moment spending I had to do. Upgrading to a bigger cage, trying different foods, buying CHEs bulbs and lamps (and replacing one when it broke), taking him to the vet for his first checkup, freaking out and taking him to the vet AGAIN because I didn't know what to do when he barfed.

It can be overwhelming to have to spend all that at the spur of the moment like I had to, so take your time to save enough money so you're as prepared as possible. Like I said, I absolutely love my boy, but man, my bank account was unhappy the first few months!

That sound exhausting and mindscrewing (trying to calm down on my cussing I don't know the regulations about cussing are (yet))
I can't wait to get lil Dipper. I'm gonna look for a cap that looks like cartoon Dipper's. AHHH SO MUCH EXCITEMENT!!!

Welcome to HHC! Sounds like you'll be well prepared when you bring your baby home.

On the topic of the language we allow, we try to keep the forum family-friendly, so less offensive alternative words in place of anything you think might bother, well, anyone, are always appreciated. Otherwise the mods and admins will typically just edit posts to say "heck" and "darn" for you.
