Smile My Long-eared Fam :D

A hearty hello to all hedgeparents here

I rescued little Timmy a few months back during summer, and i knew next to nothing about these little bundles of joy(and quill)
I was starting to learn the basics and make my room Hedgehog friendly, but in about 10 days i woke up one morning to find that not only "Timmy" is not a male, shes been pregnant for some time now and has given birth to a litter of 5 under my freakin bed !

I was overwhelmed at first but after some research and receiving helpful tips here(thx guys!) i gave them a nice quiet enviroment (my room was offlimits to human use for a month) and all 5 grew up to be healthy, happy hoglets !

I wanted to say hi and introduce my hedgys here, specially seeing so few Long-eareds around, i wanted to share the experience of whats it like to care for these guys and what you can expect from them.

They look cool. Are their front feet larger are is it just the photo? Do they stay small like the pygmys?

Its just the photo ! their average weight is a bit less than pygmys and their body shape tend to be leaner. The last photo where he is trying to get under the pillow is full grown adult

Thanks I love their ever twitching sharp nose ! I figured i wont be able to properly care for all of them, so I kept the friendliest one and found responsible owners for the rest.

I’ve never seen this breed of hedgehog! Where are you located and do you know the breed? They are just adorable.

How great to hear that you took the measures to make sure the family is healthy and everyone now has a good home! I look forward to more photos and stories.
