Lightbulb Sneaky stuff?

So yeah. I breed hedgehogs, my girls have two litters a year and their second is coming in november (born december then!) Me and my boyfriend have two girls currently, and we're getting another in October. That would make three females (which means I need a liscense) But here's the question: One lives at his house (lilo) and neytiri (and the new one) lives at my house. So I would only have two. And he'd only have one. Techniquely. So, do you think we should still go through the trouble of getting registered?

I'm pretty sure you don't need to be licensed until you have more than three breeding females.

Yup - from USDA.gov

"Under the current AWA regulations, breeders who
own three or fewer breeding females (dogs, cats, or
small exotic or wild mammals) are considered hobby
breeders and exempt from APHIS oversight"

Haha, no problem!

To answer your original question though (if you were to have more than 3), I believe you would still need to be licensed even if one or more lives at his house. You're considered to be "acting in concert"

I could be wrong on this one, but that's how I'm reading it...

Right, well we won't be keeping anymore than three. Unless we get a GORGEOUS girl from a new litter and it's impossible to sell her which might happen with me but 5 hogs is plenty! especially with college coming up next year... Sheesh.
