Only one but I didn't see it nursing, we went to clean the cage and found a cute little baby inside the box

Relax first off, next do nothing with them.
Mom will be very protective of the baby and may hurt or kill it if you try to handle it.
She may not be done having babies either so you must leave her alone.
Someone with more knowledge will be on to help you soon but for now please
take it easy, and let mom have quiet.

Try to keep her area calm and quiet. Leave her alone, no peeking or hovering! If you stress her, like if you try to handle the baby, she'll kill it.

Okay okay, she is in a very quiet and unoccupied room now and all is going well....If she recently gave birth to him, it has been about a day after she birthed him...so not sure if she'll have anymore

I deleted your other thread that said basically the same thing as this one, please don't post multiple post that are basically the same.

Again, as I've said to all of your other breeding questions, you should read the threads found in the breeding section, they will answer all of the questions you've asked so far, and in much more detail than people want to type out. At this point, you should have done enough research to know not to bother mommy anymore. You should not be cleaning the cage anymore, just leave mama totally alone, especially since this is her first litter and she may be more easily put-off of them by someone bothering her. Don't check the nest box, don't bother her at all. Because you mentioned she'd gained so much weight, I doubt the one baby is the sole baby of the litter, it's possible you interrupted her in the middle of labor. Let her do her thing. The only time you should be in her room is when you check her food and water. Talk to her quietly while you're refilling food and water and tell her what you're doing so that she knows it's you, and get in and out quickly. In about 4-5 days, you can check the nest box quickly, but don't touch the babies-- look briefly and get out.
Don't touch the babies at all before they are at LEAST 2 weeks old or mom will likely cannibalize them. There are tons of threads talking people through handling babies for the first time, etc., so please, go research. Research is essential to successful reading, and this is all stuff you should have read up about prior to the babies being born, instead of just now.

First off you can be in the room no breeder only goes in to feed and water because they usaly have some with babies others without. Hedgehogs can not stop their labor like tenrecs and moat the time when they gain a lot litters tend to be small. If in room just dnt mess with her all moms are diffrent. I have a mom that gave birth this am her first time and I went to check and she didn't quill up at all some moms are over protective and some easy going . My albino female is awsome if I don't look at her and babies once a day at least she brings them out to show me Haha. (Don't try it just saying how moms differ). Others will kill them if I do this so relax and bug her as little as posible how was she when she seen you? Keep an eye on food intake she mite not eat first few days so dnt worry about it. Also most the time if mom had a retained baby the reject others. Were all here to help. Sometimes you can read all the info and still want to hear it from a real person. Don't feel like you can't post somethin for help

OP already stated in several threads that mom was very protective, so it's best to leave her alone except to add food and water as already stated numerous times.
